It’s Super Bowl Sunday! If you are anything like me you want to get all your food ready before the big game so you can watch football and the commercials. I made a delicious gluten free vegan marinara sauce that we love as a snack. I have made this recipe many times now and decided it was time to share it. Athanasia says I only make bread now so I can make marinara. She says marinara and I should get a room! I guess I am passionate about marinara sauce! Here is how I did it:
Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons of olive oil
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 3 medium tomatoes to make 2 1/2 cups of juice (500 grams)
- 1/2 teaspoon of thyme, dried
- 1/2 teaspoon of oregano, dried
- 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of raw organic cane sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of basil, dried
- Dash of ground black pepper
- Pinch of cinnamon
Mince the garlic or throw all the ingredients into a Vitamix (click here in North America or click here in Europe) and blend until smooth. If you used a blender, pour the mixture into a medium sauce pan. If you did not use a blender, pour all the ingredients into a medium sauce pan. Place the pan on the stove over medium-low heat and cover the pan. Bring the sauce to a simmer for 15 minutes, stir occasionally. Remove from heat and serve!
Are you ready for some football?
