Gluten Free Vegan Marinara Sauce

Gluten Free Vegan Marinara Sauce

It’s Super Bowl Sunday! If you are anything like me you want to get all your food ready before the big game so you can watch football and the commercials. I made a delicious gluten free vegan marinara sauce that we love as a snack. I have made this recipe many times now and decided it was time to share it. Athanasia says I only make bread now so I can make marinara. She says marinara and I should get a room! I guess I am passionate about marinara sauce! Here is how I did it: Continue reading Gluten Free Vegan Marinara Sauce

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

I love roasted red pepper hummus and have not had it since I moved to Greece. I’ve always known it was easy to make but I was so used to being able to buy it almost anywhere in Minnesota. My sister and her boyfriend sent us a huge vegan cookbook as a Christmas gift (thanks Krysti and Jacob!) and as of right now it is the only cookbook we own. It has almost 300 pages packed with recipes so it may be the only cookbook we will ever need to own! The name of the cookbook is Veganomicon by Isa Chandra Moskowitz & Terry Hope Romero (click here for link) and it is amazing. We have made some modifications to this recipe after we made it a few times. We prefer our hummus to be runnier than the book’s recipe turned out.  Continue reading Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Traditional Greek Doughnut Puffs

Traditional Greek Doughnut Puffs

These traditional Greek doughnut puffs are slightly crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. They are delicious, slightly sweet and perfect when sprinkled with cinnamon on top. Drizzle some agave or maple syrup on them and garnish with walnut crumbs!

Olive Paste with Peppers

vegan Olive Paste with Peppers

I am always looking for new versions of old things! So I came up with this simple olive paste modification.

It is hard to find olive paste without lactic acid  or lactose proteins. We are walking miles and miles to find the good stuff, but it’s worth it! Once we found what we were looking for we decided to add a twist to it. Continue reading Olive Paste with Peppers
