It’s time for the Super Bowl! Do you have your vegan snacks planned out for Sunday yet? If you do not, why not join us in making vegan nachos bell grande a.k.a. nachos supreme! I keep recreating all these junk foods from my non-vegan days. Perhaps it is not the healthiest thing to be doing but I think it’s nice to show people who are thinking of making the transition what is actually possible. Besides, how unhealthy can walnuts, almonds and tomatoes actually be? It’s so delicious too! So, who’s ready for some football?

Vegan Sour Cream
We needed to make a good vegan sour cream recipe for the vegan Nachos Bell Grande recipe we have coming up later this week. Granted, it’s been a long time (8 years) since I have had sour cream, but I am really happy with how this recipe turned out! Of course, there are many possible uses for vegan sour cream so we felt this recipe deserved it’s own post. Here is how we made it: Continue reading Vegan Sour Cream
Vegan Nacho Cheese Dip
Kick back and watch your favorite movie tonight and enjoy it with some vegan nacho cheese! This is one of my personal favorites. It’s not for everybody because it has a little kick to it; ye be warned! Continue reading Vegan Nacho Cheese Dip
Chocolate Chip Banana Cake
Today is Athanasia’s namesake day! Here in Greece they celebrate their namesake much like a birthday with a few differences. It’s traditional to name children after one of their grandparents which results in a continuation of the family names and many days of celebrations each year! Every day of the year is associated with at least one saint or martyr by the Orthodox church and they even have an “All Saint’s Day” in case your name is not one that is celebrated. Ok, now that we have covered some culture, let’s talk chocolate chip banana cake! A few months ago my mom suggested we turn our banana bread into one with chocolate chips. This, of course, was a great idea! We decided to make a cake instead of another bread so we could have a sweet for Athanasia’s namesake. This cake is delicious!
Barbecue Sauce
I love Barbecue sauce! I had tried to make my own BBQ sauce a few years ago but I didn’t really like it. Needless to say, I have learned a lot about making condiments since then so it was time to try again! Back home in Minnesota it is easy to find a delicious organic gluten free vegan BBQ sauce at just about any grocery store. Here there are only a few options and none of them are organic. So, the journey began…
Raw Month Challenge
Here it is, our raw month challenge results post! As some of our readers may remember, we decided to do a 30 day raw vegan challenge beginning at the end of April 2014 through May 2014. We never managed to post the results and our thoughts on the challenge before our hard drive crashed over the summer. Shame on us for not backing up, so if you are reading this right now you should make a mental note to back up your important files after you are done reading! Lucky for us, Athanasia kept old school notes with a pen and paper so we are still able to (finally) publish this post. Sure, we lost some of the recipes we had and, of course, any photos we did not already upload to our blog are gone too. However, we can still share with you what we do have. Continue reading Raw Month Challenge
Vegan Caramel Apple Cheesecake
Who doesn’t love a good vegan cheesecake? I have made some raw vegan cheesecakes before but without a dehydrator it is much easier and more cost effective for us to make an almost raw cheesecake. We have included instructions below on how to make it completely raw if you do have a dehydrator or feel like running your convection oven at it’s lowest temperature for 12 hours or more. Athanasia and I were discussing what our last post of the year should be and we decided to make this vegan caramel apple cheesecake. We had not posted any cheesecakes before today so it’s about time we did!
Gluten Free Vegan Rocky Road Cookies
We wanted to make delicious Christmas cookies this year but not necessarily traditional holiday cookies. We had discussed several options before deciding to make gluten free vegan rocky road cookies. I am very happy we decided on these cookies as they are the most scrumtrulescent cookies I have ever made!
Vegan Sour Cream and Cheddar Dip
Who does not love a simple, quick and easy snack recipe? What could be quicker than opening a bag of chips and taking 5 minutes to make a dip? Thanks to the vegan original cream cheese by Violife we present this vegan sour cream and cheddar dip! Before I was a vegan, I loved sour cream and cheddar chips. I am extremely pleased how well this recipe turned out. Here is how we did it:
Gluten Free Vegan Meatloaf
No Christmas is complete without a meatloaf, right? We have made a delicious gluten free vegan meatloaf we want to share with our readers this holiday season! This delicious vegan loaf primarily consists of walnuts and portobello mushrooms. While it was in the oven, I could not believe how amazing it’s aroma was! I knew it was going to be tasty and it sure did not let us down in that department! This was one of those recipes I was not entirely sure would work on my first attempt, however, it turned out great. We hope you try it and enjoy it as much as we did! Happy Holidays!
